>>4201388Black and white photography is a different medium than color photography. What you look for when shooting in black and white is vastly different than color. There is a greater emphasis on contrast, texture, geometry, etc. Much like being blind heightens your other senses, black and white heightens the viewers' attention to the composition and the other things I mentioned. Nice colors can carry an otherwise boring composition in a way not possible with black and white.
