Is there a best practise when scanning images? I just bought a Plustek scanner over Black Friday and have been using the Silverfast software that comes with it.
The top image is the lab scan which was made on a Fuji Frontier. The bottom image is just the default negative scanning settings on Silverfast.
I'm intended to just edit my tiffs straight in Photoshop. Is it best to just scan a flat/neutral image and then soup up the contrast etc. in photoshop or should I be applying all that in the scanner settings?
I've heard people mention Vuescan but what does that do any different than Silvefast?
