>>4086464My partner works in the industry, and it's been really interesting getting to know how people use it at different levels over the years.
The typical lazy / unmotivated "weed isn't addictive" types make up a significant chunk, but anecdotally I'd put it like 60% ish. Most work on farms (tons of wooks on farms), and then the others just work the counter at dispos. Definitely becomes less common as you go into more management or logistics or sales roles.
Some in industry don't consume at all, which I find a little crazy. Most smoke just as much as the lazy denial stoners, but they can actually be productive. Oddly enough, I feel like many would admit they are dependent on weed, before saying weed itself is addictive. It's not that they couldn't stop, it's more that they view it as medicine, or something as common as coffee for everyday life. I do wish I never started honestly, but I do think it's fine like most other things, in moderation. Getting ripped all day, every day, is obviously stupid, but having a rip after work right before dinner hits just like a glass of wine for me.
Bringing this back to photo, there's a lot of opportunity if you like product / macro work. All the brands love "sick" photos of their weed, and the quality for most brands in-house is pretty poor.
