I'm using Vuescan currently. I tried SIlverfast when I first got my 8100 and it sucked so much dick.
My workflow goes as such;
>preview scan
>adjust crop
>Auto levels
>Adjust black point
>Adjust white point
>save as 48bit RGB, 5300 dpi .tif file
>import to lightroom
>adjust tone curve if necessary
>+/- contrast, highlight, shadows, etc where necessary
>add sharpening
>export
