Thinking you can do astrophotography with a dobsonian yeah if you wanna spend a shit load of money on a big bulky telescope go for it. I do just fine with my 80mm telescope. Unless you got over $5,000+ good luck doing astrophotography with it.
I got an 8'' dob and can tell you that trying to get everything set up without a tracking mount will be a complete waste of time I tried to take a picture of the Andromeda galaxy with my dob and my DSLR pssh waste of time.
