I built a large format camera for my woodshop class when I was in highschool. It's based on a design by a man named Jon Grepstad.

I didn't know how to cut the brass locking mechanisms or find the hardware outlined in the design at the time so I just magnetized everything. That's an option if you don't have the means to work with metal.
