Hello /fgt/s
Anyone has any experience in mantaining or fixing the Berning Robot type of cameras?
I'm not a photo fag, but I found this camera in a thrift store for a relative cheap price and I was planning to gift it to a photographer friend who collects vintage and weird cameras.
the thing itself is a Berning Robot Star II, and from what I've gathered it was designed as a fully automatic camera by some german autismo guy (they were initially used as luftwaffe gun cameras which I think is kind of cool)
the model itself is from the fifties when they became sort of popular for everyday use
the problem I have whit it is that the shutter gets stuck or gummed up when setting it up in the slow shutter speeds (1/2, 1/8 and 1/10th seconds, for example)
I tried cleaning it up using isopropylic alcohol and it improved a bit, but it is still pretty gummed up and gets stuck again very frequently...
any ideas?
is there any website or reference site I could use for this?
thanks in advance
