>>3875776Yeh, that's a tough question. Its a tough job, there is not doubt about that – even just on interesting projects which are not in war zones. As I said earlier, things get lonely, and it does take a toll. But I still love it, and I think im lucky for how well it's gone for me so far. A quote I really like is "all in all its worth it, even for the little victories, standing by as a witness to the dark rumblings of history".
Most people who do this full time, spend most of their year photographing Antifa rallies, press conferences or other boring shit. Right now I work full time for a big new agency (I cant say who), which allows me to travel and work on my own projects as I like. Having that kind of support, credibility and connections can make all the difference.
But, for the real long term, I have been considering studying Paramedicine, building on my past experiencing working as an EMT. I think that, would be the most satisfying kind of normal work. Considering everything I have seen I don't think I could be at peace working in an office, or any job I feel to be 'meaningless'. Might even go into the army as a medic. It is strange to think I sometimes miss being shot at, but its pretty common.
