To be fair to DP review I went and corrected the ISOs and indeed the shutter speeds are the same. Also, on the EM1X they upgraded to using the Panasonic 42.5 f1.2 over the Olympus 45mm f1.8.
So let's take a look at a scene normalized view for print size. The Sony RAW file is 10x as large, but to my near 20/20 eyes, the Sony doesn't look anywhere near 10x as good. In fact, the Sony doesn't even look twice as good. It looks barely like 20%-30% better in clarity and contrast, if that, and the EM1X image hasn't even been post processed yet, meaning you could very easily bring the EM1X to nearly identical levels of clarity, sharpness, and contrast with just some minor processing.
The Sony already looks about as good as you can reasonably expect at that size, I can't imagine post processing it to look significant;y sharper or more contrasty. So we can definitely say the Sony produces a superior image SooC, but not exceedingly superior, and we can also say the Olympus image can benefit a lot more from post than the Sony image.
Most importantly, the quality of the images CAN be almost totally equalized, unless you're printing at sizes higher than like 42" on a side and then yes, the Sony will win out by droves just by virtue of it's 3x higher resolution.
Now you'll tell me that the majority of working photogs regularly print over 38" on a side so you can save face...
