>>4032081Your pictures are misleading. First off, the separation between the subject and the background is provided by the distance between the subject and the background. If the distance between the subject and the background were decreased, then the difference between the apertures would be more noticeable.
Also, no information on the focal lengths between pictures are given and judging by details in the out of focus background, particularly the small light square to the right of the camera just by the strap hook, each picture is taken at different focal lengths. You can clearly see lens compression at work by the small light square's position in relation to the strap hook. As focal length increases, depth of field decreases and so narrower apertures at longer focal lengths can produce similar results as wider apertures at wider focal lengths.
In short, this is a misleading conclusion. I am a noob. I've only been into photography for a couple of months so if anyone can correct me on anything, I'd appreciate it. Always want to learn. Thanks.
