Going forward I don't see SD lasting forever though. XQD outperforms the fastest available SD cards by about 100MB/s and the new CFExpress card anounced by ProGrade writes at 1000MB/s (XQD: 400MB/s, SD: 300MB's)
I was just thinking, the Z7's buffer is 18 shots. The D850's 14-bit lossless compressed raws are like 50-55MB. So with CFExpress it would take about a second to clear the buffer. I wonder if they took that in consideration when deciding on such a small buffer size.
