Yeah you have to get REALLY close with a Ricoh GR. I usually leave mine on 35mm crop mode because the 28mm is basically point blank range. But sometimes the wide angle adds something that the crop mode loses.

These people were upset because I waited until Darth Vader lifted his helmet to catch some air and I had to shove my GR pretty close to get the moment. Worth it though.

I move between ISO 800 outdoors and ISO 1600 indoors or in challenging conditions because I value high shutter speed with an aperture between f4-f11. Not really possible at ISO 100-400 most of the time. Grain doesn't really bother me.

Doesn't really matter to me since it was reposted on a Facebook page that has nothing to do with me.

The Stormtrooper woman was upset at me because I took this photo without her permission but I only took the photo because Darth Vader lifted the helmet for a brief second. Plus they're street performers. There were tourists with cameras everywhere. I just had to get point blank because Ricoh GR so she noticed me.

This is the only photo where I've experienced any resistance and it was because I caught "Darth Vader" lifting his helmet to wipe sweat off his face. What bothers me about him is that he lies to you then always follows it up by calling you stupid or a moron. That's why he made an enemy of me and why I refused to let it go until he was exposed as a pathological liar. Fair enough, lie all you want on 4chan, who gives a shit, but don't call people morons for not falling for it. He has no respect for other people which is visible in his laughably teenager-style nihilistic photo captions of homeless people and used needles. He's a bad example for street photography and photography in general.

I'm more experienced in video work and YouTube but eventually decided to learn how to use my camera for stills because I knew nothing about it. Ended up becoming something to do while I do my daily commute. It keeps me from staring at my phone as I walk around which can only be a good thing. I feel like I pay attention to what's going on around me these days.

My main inspirations I pull from photo books I borrow from the library so it changes a lot month to month.

I don't intend to turn this into anything really. At some point I'll return to video and try to make something happen there. I find that people really connect with video (see someone like Thomas Heaton) whereas with photography it's an uphill battle to make work that matters.
