I'm currently using a flash tube prototype I made, which works better than the ring light ever could (unfinished pic of it here). I made 2 other prototypes, but they were never as good as the first one is. So, I just need to get some mirror to hack up and see how that goes. >>3370523I recently had to rebuild the lens since it dumped oil all over the aperture blades and 6 elements. Now it also has a wee tiny flocking-lined lens hood. I can do handheld with it now, but no focus stacking doing handheld of course.
