People who are claiming that 5D is obsolete are clueless, pic related. It has the same dynamic range as 7D, it's better in low light. Megapixels are less important then most think, ESPECIALLY FOR PORTRAITS! but even in that regard 5D is AT LEAST on par with 7D. 5D has pixel perfect sharpness with is unobtainable on APS-C cameras with regular lenses.
7D is better for many uses(it has a better screen, auto ISO, much more fps, better AF... etc) but portraits are surely not one of them.
