That photo was taken with a HP Photosmart M417. There is no way to get a good shallow DOF in this situation with this camera while handholding and still taking a reasonable sharp photo. I tried standing back and zooming and every attempt came out blurry. Even still, this photo has fake blur added to the background and and unsharp mask added to the ashtray. This is the original photo.
