I am very new to film. And have some pretty stupid questions but you guys have been super helpful in the past: I have this Nikon F2 with the photomic thing on top. I really like the camer and film in general but I have some issues with it, please help.
1. The lightmeter just seems "weird"(?) I don't know how to explain it. But like I'll look at an area that I think has adequate lighting but the lightmeter says that it's not enough so I give it more aperture or shorter shutter but it'll still say too little light so I turn both up and down, nothing. Then I turn to a place I consider darker and suddenly the lightmeter decides to work and things my settings are way to open it shoots up for + what is that?? I feel like I can't trust my lightmeter, which is kind worrisome as a new person to photography.
2. There's a lot of "dirt" in my viewfinder. I've bought "lens pens", air blowers etc. all in attempts to solve the dirt/dust/hairs on the lens, the viewfinder and the little focusing glass etc. but it's still just dirty. Is that normal? Or? It's not a lot, I can still see perfectly well but the corners are just filled with little black specs.
3. Looking at the backside of my lens there seems to be dust INSIDE the glass?? I don't think it affects my images but what do I do? It's an old Nippon Kogaku 50mm
4. The photomic seems sort of "loose" on 1 side, should I worry?
5. Are scratches on the mirror important? Does the mirror matter for anything other than just "seeing" before you take the shot?
6. Yesterday I actually went to clean the various things I mentioned because I noticed all that dirt and now my lightmeter is just not responding. It's just always on - even though I swapped batteries. I've had it open before to blow out dust with no issues
Pic related to the various questions I guess, except the "lens dust" as I just couldn't get a good picture of it.
