>>3976522I use the older model, and it's quite good for a tiny camera. I upgraded from a T6 after using it for about 4 years and was curious how the mirrorless cameras were without breaking bank. Fun camera, but definitely a limited range of lenses: albeit if you collect all eight like an Exodia, you can probably stay on the M-Mount for the rest of your life cause Canon really made sure that you can shoot in every perspective on the M.
Looking for good shots and quality? The M50 can do it. Video in 4k without burning a hole in your sensor like the R5? The M50 can do it. Just want a small camera? The M50 can do it. For $200, I am more than satisfied with it, and honestly look forward to upgrading to the M6II when it comes time cause the Ms are fun as all hell. The II has a better AF range, Red eye detection and live view tracking but all the same if you're stuck between two. An LCI from BMW if you will.
Now comes lenses... If you're worried about the rogue's gallery of lenses the M-Mount has, adapters like the OE M-EF exist, Viltrox has three, one all manual, one electronic, and one with a 2.33x speed booster on it to respond better, commilite has one which is what I use and works great for a fraction of the Canon or Viltrox and that's all to it. They work but they are without their quibbles. They respond weird depending on what lens you are using for example (27-80mm USM I) but isn't bad at its tracking at all. Aftermarket do sell CF, M39, I believe an M43 mount as well. Take your pick.
