a6400 will do you well, you could even go with the earlier/cheaper a6500 model (Sony's naming schme was retarded for the a6 line; don't ask) as they both do 4K.
Spend more on lighting/a soft box for diffused light, backdropping, a good tripod (the Q999) and a stands you need for the lights.
If you need to speak/record sound, get an LAV (one of those on-body clip-on mics) and a tuft of fluffystuff (known as a dead cat) if working outdoors.
The kit lens alone will do you fine, no need for a 35mm prime, let alone one from Sony as they are expensive. Alone with this you should be just under your $1,300.
Get a cheaper Yongnuo or Sigma if you absolutely feel the need to spend money on a 35mm 1.8, but these are honestly for those times you absolutely need low-light performance.
