Good F-1 bodies themselves don't go cheap. But they will work fucking anywhere.
F-1 is a solid tank of a thing, especially the old early mechanical ones. Most of it can be dissasembled easily for cleaning and maintenance. Putting new seals in is a lot easier when you can pop bits out and set them aside safely.
There is, of course, no assistance from the camera whatsoever, unless you find extra parts on ebay for mental money.
I still managed to break it.
