>>3566600I would suggest some photo exercises so you aren't just walking around like Scarlett Johannason in Lost in Translation, doe-eyed and clueless. For instance, spend a week or two shooting people you see who wear blue sweaters. Do posed street portraits of people with glasses. Find a common typology and explore it.
I once embarked upon a massive project that took up about a year where I shot different suburban houses that were identical models, sort of a riff on the Bechers. You could do something similar.
You could do technical exercises too, where you shoot at a fixed shutter speed, aperture and ISO, say 1/60, f/16 and ISO 400. You end up finding your light, rather than adjusting your camera.
Spend an hour making a single photo. Could be a still life, could be a busy street corner where you sit and wait for the right opportunity.
Try to think about your photos before you go take them. The creative process starts long before you touch a camera.
