>>3761098>i just dont get the popularity of lecia cameras. their specs dont seem all that great for their price.I can't speak for everyone, but just for myself: Shooting with a Leica M is fun in a way that shooting with other cameras just isn't. It's a very old-school style of shooting experience that makes me feel more connected to the photography than I get sometimes with my more modern cameras. Plus, the mere fact that the shooting experience is different puts me in a different headspace and makes me take different photos than I would with a more modern camera.
And yeah, by "old-school style of shooting experience", I do mean that you're paying a premium price for a camera that's got shit specs compared to the cheapest decade-old Rebel. If the idea of that strikes you as ridiculous, well, Leica's not for you. There's no way I can explain it to you in a way that it will make it make sense to you because it's just not your preference. Just like no one can explain to pickles to me in such a way that I'll want to eat them.
But for someone who wants that less-automated shooting experience, Leicas are great.
