>>3640726For awhile I stopped using my Demonic and used my phone. The app I used gave identical readings to the Sekonic but eventually I switched back to using the Sekonic. Two main reasons being:
It's faster. No need to deal with unlock screens.
I can save my phone battery. This matters a lot when on multi-day hikes or while travelling and needing to use my phone for maps and everything else.
It's more accurate for long exposures.
It's a better and simpler interface.
I can stay focused on shooting photos and not get sidetracked by notifications on my phone.
If your phone works for you, then great. But if you find it a pain to deal with for metering...maybe having a simple meter like the one you own is something worth trying.
