I like totake every photo in every mode in sequence, so that way I am always ready for whichever situation might appear.
I also take every picture by moving each aperture blade individually, moving the shutter manually and sometimes I go out with a large format camera, open the shutter and place tracing paper over the ground glass, only to trace it.
This is a highly technical and soulful way of replicating real life, perfected in ancient China where it was referred to as "Pai n'ting" and is still to this day the preferred method of real professionals.
