I got a new job and they're asking me to build a video kit for for $4,500 max. I'm trying to include a body, lens, gimbal, storage media, nd filters, extra batteries, ac adapter, tripod and a case.
What I don't need: Microphones, lights (have my own).
What I don't THINK I need: external recorder, external monitor, matte box.
At my previous job 4 years ago, I used a sony a7sii which shot 8 bit log, but I loved it. I graded with Davinci resolve. I'm assuming I should go for cameras that shoot 10 bit internally since they've gone down in price?
From what I read, the bmpcc4k has the best quality, but needs a lot more set up and performs best in controlled environments. Chances are, I'll be out in the field and asked to "record stuff" run n gun, so I don't think the bmpcc4k is best for that (as much as I would love to have one).
Please suggest ANY other camera boy that may work, such as fuji XT5, or canon eos R7, along with their pros and cons.
