>>4369271Well, this thing is a fiasco. I shot the first roll all the way through last night, and when I rewound the film, it was so stiff I was afraid I would tear the perforations or severely scratch the film.
When I opened it up there were scratch marks all over the body and back from the pressure plate springs, the tip of a screw in the back, and even from the film canister itself. There were metal shavings in the film chamber.
I loaded it exactly as instructed and even watched the video. And of course I own and frequently use the 35SE so I'm familiar with the process. It's not me.
I emailed mint last night but still haven't heard back. I'll bet other people have been having this problem.
Even if they fix it under warranty that's money and time spent sending it to HK. I'm gonna try to get my money back instead. This camera just has too many problems. Makes me appreciate the thoughtfully-designed Hexar much more.
>tl;dr it's truly the Cybertruck of cameras. And I feel like a burned pre-orderer. The naysayers >>4369685 >>4369625 win after all. A few more notes: the slot for the roll is too small for plastic reloadable cartridges. And there really is no "full auto". It's aperture priority or manual only. Which is very strange because I checked the camera over and the aperture is indeed electronically controlled.
Meanwhile I am about to process the first roll right now and post some scans by tonight. I'll also post a webm comparing the autofocus loudness and speed on /wsg/. There is considerable difference.
