It's sad because art displays culture. And this exemplifies an attempt to remake beauty as unsettling and unnatural. This gaslights artists to believe that our culture wants a beautified evil. A semicompetant photographer sees this and to make his work stand out he mimics this, and follows this path of falsity, continuing a path antithetical to natural beauty and healthy culture.
