Fuji has a couple of advantages, namely separate, physical controls for all exposure functions; and great in-camera processing for your photos, so you don't really need to post-process. The physical controls were the big selling point for me, personally, and the colour rendering was second. To each their own.
Fuji probably doesn't top the spec sheets (from what I've heard here, but I don't care to look into it), but they're very useable cameras that give great results
