>>3998453I liked it too! I was trying to go for less 'subject heavy' photos that day. I really liked the texture and tonal range, esp how the leaf seemed variously translucent/opaque with the light. Still comes off as boring to my eyes. Here's another 'boring' photo that I don't mind from the same day.
>>3998421It really depends on the look you are going for. That low key shot of the pitcher-plant flower just couldn't have been done without a flash due to ambient light. But generally I agree, less gear is better. Less batteries are better.
