Micro Four Turds shooter with a G9 here. I absolutely fucking love my G9. It frequently goes on sale for less than a $1000 make sure to get it then if you're interested.
>>3655461The 12-40 is an alright lens. It gets really soft at the telephoto range which sucks for portraiture, and there's no correction for barrel distortion so whatever program you use HAS to have a profile for it or else your photos will look damn near like they came from a fish eye lens. Typically I treat it as a 2.8-4 unless I absolutely need the extra light. The lens hood on the 12-40 is a pile of shit that literally exploded into pieces on me so I would recommend buying another hood for it just for the sake of it. As a side note: excellent if you want to do some macro work on it.
It was fantastic starting out but I've since swapped it out for my Voigtlander 17.5 f/0.95 which rocks my fucking cock
>>3655448This lens, the 40-150, now this is the best lens I've ever used. EXTREMELY lightweight for the telephoto range and has some absolutely GORGEOUS bokeh, like you can 100% use it for portraiture even with f/2.8 no problem. The G9 is going to do a lot of work smoothing out your handheld shooting for you, expect to be able to nail at least 50% of your 150mm shots on 1/30th of a second. The best part about the 40-150 is that on top of being small and lightweight it's also entirely internal focus and internal zoom, something that looking at just pictures don't tell you about.
