The 35mm still photography camera was not invented until the first SLR was. Sorry, leicaboys. Photography was actually Russian invention.
>he first 35mm prototype SLR was the "Filmanka" developed in 1931 by A. Min in the Soviet Union. In 1933 A.O. Gelgar developed the "GelVeta" also in the USSR, later renamed Cпopт ("Sport").And then, germans lied and claimed they developed the SLR (by stealing the russian invention and making more copies because america was giving them free money and debt forgiveness)
Everything prior to the SLR is just cope. Might as well use a dark slide in front of a roll film back and a ground glass if it's going to work like a shitty press camera.
Rangefinders are just yet another awkwardly stuck on viewfinding-thing that doesn't actually do its job well, just like that dumb guestimating crosshair. Might as well have a height-of-a-man scale like they put on combat larp scopes. SLRs allow you to actually focus the lens. I see absolutely no difference between a leica and this
>>4310576 besides the rangefinder apparatus being taller and enclosed in the same shell as the body.
SLR = camera
Rangefinder = "camera"
