Sometimes just being attached to the tripod and moving it up and down or whatever is enough, especially when I don't want 1:1 for whatever reason.
Case in point is this moth that's way big and for a full subject in frame, I'm at 1:3 reproduction ratio approximately, and I don't need to be too close.
