>>3214502Just to let you know, the flange focal distance (FFD) from the sensor to the outside of the camera is rather far on Nikon cameras. Should you buy one then want to get good quality but severely marked down lenses from other cameras, it won't work out as well because of how large the FFD is. However, if you choose a camera with a shorter FFD, it allows you to use any other lens from other company's cameras that have a larger FFD.
Check this chart out. It is ordered from smallest to largest FFD. The Nikon D90 uses the Nikon F mount and is highlighted on this list. Meaning you'd only be able to use other lenses from the cameras below that line. Now go up the list and look at what cameras there are up there. Any mount you choose higher up on the list will allow lenses to be used from lower on the list. The higher you go, the more options open up to you.
When you use a lens from a camera that's above your camera on the list, it loses quality or infinity depending on the adapter you get for it. Getting one that's below your camera on the list will allow the lens to retain its quality.
