>>3076208Well a 50mm or the 40mm pancake for this are both dirt cheap even new. If you know anybody that's into cameras, they'll probably be happy to give you a film era kit zoom for nothing.
The 40mm gives you pretty much technical perfection from a sharpness, CA and distortion perspective, and makes the camera extremely light and compact. Takes 52mm filters as well, like your Nikon glass.
Those are really nice cameras though. Probably bicer and more capabe than your F5, desu.
The other thing you could do is adapt any of your Nikkor stuff with an aperture ring, it will meter fine in Aperture priority mode.
