Everyone judges anything they can think of, even if it`s irrelevant:
-Gear used
-Settings
-Edits
-Etc
Good photos posted in a group or forum either get ignored or heavily criticized, specially if good gear is used (jealously maybe?)
Bad photos get praised instead of being criticized.
Why everyone has to be such an specialist in such a relatively easy craft. Yes, photography is easy. Anyone can learn semi-pro level in 6 months or even less.
