>>3652352>>3652351>>3652349This doesn't take into account the style in which these things are being shot in. It's only a list of the "what" and I wouldn't use those to categorize the list of the photographic 'genre'. Take fashion photography for example. Look at the websites for gucci vs celine to see two completely different styles of photos
As for your main point... Maybe you just suck at finding different genres. Social media and instagram are flooded with crap pictures taken by people without thinking about their picture. You could say making music is more intentional, you have to actually spend some time in making something, it's not as easy as taking a random snapshot.
I think putting a name to a style of photography is not as common as naming a music genre either. I think most photography genres are named after the subject, like in your lists
This style isn't new but look up "Provoke" it's one of the most distinctive styles I can think of. It went totally against the status quo of the time of neat and sharp photos. It came from groups of students who would sit around and discuss their photos endlessly. In other words, the photos had a lot of intention behind them
So I would look at maybe photobooks or zines or even art galleries to see different genres, where people have put maybe a little more effort into them. Not so much the commercial side.
The barrier of entry for photography is a little lower than music so you might have to look a little harder
I don't know what I'm saying
