>>3769935>After years of this camera basically only shooting 200 ISO film for holiday photos, I wanna try out some low light shooting that was never something it did before.Anon, just manage expectations cause I see you're going full out on 3200 film.
You'll get more grain than you're expecting, especially in 35mm.
Low light shooting with film has a different meaning, it means that you sorta get something without too much motion blur, instead of missing the shot completely.
It doesn't mean you load up some ISO3200 film can go around at night shooting carefree. You have to be mindful of light levels.
Fast B&W film works nicely in medium - verging to dim - artificially lit interiors for instance. Say a restaurant or a pub, cause it allows you to use something like 1/30-1/60 speed at f/2-f/2.8 and get decent results, where 2 or 3 stops slower wouldn't work.
But remember the fastest film available is roughly 3 stops faster than your bog standard consumer film.
If you like nighttime shots, of static subjects (like christmas lights etc.) you might wanna try a tripod and long exposures. Lots of interesting results you can get like that.
