>>4274509>>4274511>>4274513>>4274485Simply the Milvus and Otus line are the newest and best lenses for manual focus Nikon SLR's. They have a long throw for accurate focus, their mechanical quality is flawless, and they're weather sealed, and they are fully corrected optically, ie they actually don't suffer from CA or distortion or focus shift really at all. The Milvus line doesn't use aspherics either, resulting in absolutely premium boke. Pic related, I own the 50/1.4 Milvus, but plan to get the 25, 35 and 85 in time.
>apologies this is not a rock photoThe classic AIS Nikon 35/1.4 is a "vintage" lens in every way (soft wide open, coma everwhere, hectic flare, LoCA wide open, Lateral CA stopped down), it's simply not comparable for IQ, and I'd say if that's the direction you wanted to go the Nikkor 35/2 AIS is a better choice, way smaller and sharper and available for almost free. The Based God Ken does recommend the AFD version instead though, won't be as nice feeling to focus.
