You have massive segments of what are genuinely talented photographers who are absolutely convinced that there is no reason to go through the effort of achieving a perfectly #FFFFFF background (they are retarded and wrong). Anyways, the real problem with your picture OP is that your lighting is shit. The grey is normal; all my pics look grey and shitty prior to post processing but your lighting is just poorly distributed. Try a lightbox. You can get one on Amazon for like $150 and they work really well
