>>3303352The EF 85mm f/1.8 is a little soft wide open and will produce purple fringing in bright/contrasty conditions. People who don't shoot photos think that's a death sentence to your photos. It's not. Most portraits don't need or even benefit from critical sharpness wide open, especially in the corners. This is a great lens and well suited to a wide variety of portraits. The 135mm is an L lens, though, so it has much stronger build quality, it's designed to be sharp at the widest aperture, and purple fringing is highly controlled.
