>>4093329>what panasonic are you comparing too?I had an S1R and now I have a Z7II. Actually I still have both. These are comparable models. If you don't care about the EVF and build quality the S5 stands in for the S1 with the same sensor and image quality.
>I do want the time lapse function though.Panasonic timelapse is the best one out there right now, you can make videos from your time lapse at multiple framerate options after the fact, they're prebundled in view mode so you dont have to scroll past 1000 photos, and you can simply set the amount of photos and the interval time giving you really excellent control over what effect you're looking for.
>are lack of lenses really and issue for zmount? Even with all the adaptable lenses?Any DSLR lens you can adapt to Z you can do to anything else with the same compatibility concerns. The only exception is F with the FTZII and maybe EF, which Sony does fine with fyi. If you don't care about AF then contrast based sensors don't have Phase detect modules which helps a lot with IQ. I would rate the S1R above the Z7II even though they're both Sony sensors around the same res. S1/R has better IBIS by far too, and better assist tools. Pic shot without a tripod on EF glass, just resting on the side of a pier, hand on the camera to prevent it going overboard
