>>3746354>Some people just copy popular styles and subject matter so they can get social media clout.Spot on. It's unfortunate when the people who are being imitated get lumped into the same group of those doing the imitating lol.
>>3746397Not really man, I just jerk off to Magnum photographers mostly. Also skimming Nat Geo has produced some interesting photographers to follow. I'm more into the non-ficiontal, documentary type of stuff vs Soth's more fictional storytelling approach.
One worth mentioning is David Alan Harvey. His body of work is incredible and worth looking at for sure. These days, however, he's living on the Outer Banks of NC and posting daily life snaps to IG. It's super enjoyable to watch as it feels as if he's giving us a live glimpse into the production of a body of work that may eventually get whittled down into a cohesive set. I imagine this is how a lot of the Magnum folks work but you never get to see the process, the mountain of images produced that will never get included in the end product, the journey. He has this background commentary about increasing frequency of storms and erosion and the potential loss of the islands as a whole. Pic related
