I can't blame him for not liking sony. Sony is shit. You either need the stupid tech aids and marginal size reduction, or sony is just a bunch of poorly made cameras with wonky dull colors that demand editing/presets or cope like "people are that unhealthy looking irl". Pic related, my a7cii. I never touched that seal. I was very conscious of not touching that seal. The material degrades, sticks to the plastic flap, and gets torn out. The a7c I had before it was fine except it had to be replaced not once, but twice, for this issue

Superior hands off autofocus and saving a half inch in some direction isn't worth it. I don't vlog. Nikon makes vastly superior cameras, and their f1.8 lenses have better color, way less vignetting, and GM performance for 1/2 the price. Yes, f1.8, but the light transmission of a sony f1.4 is the same as an f1.8. Most sony lenses vignette about/over 3 stops wide open and keep vignetting over 1ev even at f4-f11, where nikon lenses can bring their vignette down to less than a stop
