>>3485825I don't recommend you getting close-up filters unless you don't mind the far lower quality images they make. Though, you can take a set of them and make some artistic things using the extreme degradation they cause to IQ. That's all I did with them (see pics). A reverse ring and/or tubes is really all you need and you'll get much better images using them instead of using close-up filters.
Amazon has really cheap bellows. They are the same as an extension tube, only you can adjust them as needed. You can couple them with extension tubes and a reverse ring to get the most out of a lens (with diminishing returns on IQ). A lens with a short focal length will give you more magnification, but at the cost of a far shorter working distance. 90mm to 100mm lenses give a comfortable working distance. Vintage manual lenses are really good for reversing since they are all manual. You can buy literally any lens that has filter threads and get a reverse ring for that filter size for your camera mount. Meaning the lens can be for other cameras and it won't matter. That will open up a great selection of lenses you may not have previously thought of. Ebay is a great place to get cheap vintage lenses.
