If you get a monitor with a wide enough colour gamut (dci-p3, 100% srgb etc) the tend to be ~90% adobe rgb anyways which is good enough. When you import a raw into your raw processor it will display as much colour data as possible to you, what matters is when you export it, but there is legit deminishing returns. sRGB colour space is good enough for printing (for me! cause i only print 13x19), and the only time adobe rgb matters is generally for print publications/billboards (lol 2023) and if you wanna be a snob about printing on your wall. obviously if i was printing non stop and had a printer that could 24x36 at home I would be printing adobergb, but the dude im arguing with is being a snob. That money could be better spent on taking a trip and taking photos rather than jerking off to your "nicer" colours.
