>>4371415This is going on too far. I've got to mention that in spite of it being an amazing lens it's actually very small only about 10 in Long. But it is really heavy for its size because the inside is almost all glass and or metal. They did not put any plastic into this. The guy owned it before me was a wildlife photographer but older than me, and he bought it thinking only weighed 3.2 pounds not kilograms he ended up not using it very much. The only other problem that it has is the ridiculously tiny tripod foot that the lens has so I replaced it with a Really Right Stuff.
Beyond just being a better base to mount tripod to, you can also use it as a palm rest for this heavy piece of optical equipment. You can easily get much better photographs resting it on that
