Most off my equipment is used.
Few pro-tips:
Anything sold AS-IS, means it's broke or something is wrong with it.
Robert's Photo is a good place for used gear and if you can get to Indy their store UsedPhotoPro is pretty cool they have a film bin of expired or almost expired film that's like 3 bucks a roll.
Check Facebook Marketplace. You'll have to be diligent for a good deal as scalpers and flippers, ((((((resellers)))))) and other people who are too lazy to get a real job sit on their ass all day refreshing it to snatch up shit to flip on eBay for scalper prices. Yes, I'm talking to you faggots who go to Goodwill every day and find a T4 for 3 dollars and sell it for 700 bucks, though those days are about done.
If you can though, or pay market price, you'll have an opportunity to get your hands on it and test it before buying. It's not as bad as it used to be now that the economy is in recession and everyone is broke but keep an eye on it. I've gotten amazing deals on shit I use in front line service, found my F5 for 300 in an antique shop.
Speaking of, don't be afraid to look at brick and mortar stores and antique shops. One of my best sources for gear is an antique shop with a camera flipper inside, but he flips for fair prices and doesn't sell junk. We've traded shit for a while, he's on the hunt for a Canon 7 rangefinder for me to trade my F100 for.
