I've finally finished college and established my career, so I can replace my old D200 with something that has better low light performance and get some lenses that are better suited for what I like to do, which is mostly take pictures of birds and airplanes. The question is; given my relatively small amount of nikon gear, should I go with nikon or another brand? I currently have
Nikon D200
300mm f4 (old one, screw drive)
18-200mm (broken AF from a rain storm)
18-70mm zoom
35mm f1.8
Vivitar series 1 70-210mm manual macro lens
I have no brand loyalty, I like my D200 but I also like my Canon FD mount 35mm SLRs. I'm not looking at new stuff, just good condition used stuff, can't really justify spending over $1k on the body alone. Do I go with full frame or crop? Nikon or Canon? There is so much to choose from but right now I'm inclined to get a good used D610 and a 200-500mm.
