People who love Leica love it for the same reason people love high end mechanical watches or pens, they are a perfect blend of beauty and function.
a $10 casio tells time more accurately than a Rolex worth thousands, and a Mont Blanc pen isn't going to make you a better writer than a Bic. That said however, the user experience is not the same when using cheap alternatives, the weight on your wrist that comes with a high end watch while going into a meeting is like that of wearing a bracer into battle, while a casio only ever feels like cheap plastic for a cheap person.
