>>3898561>I love how Chinese lenses are crap for an old DSLR but "solid" for the Fuji. Any way, there are plenty of "solid" UWA zooms for older crop DSLRs.It is not that I have something against DSLR. Just producers took advantage of shorter flange distance. It simply wasn't possible to have as fast ultrawide as samyang 12 f2. Closes thing would be tokina 11-16 f2.8 which is full stop slower. For many aplications it doesn't make much of a difference, but for astrophotography it does.
You can read a review of samyang 12 f2, and compare it to review of their older stuff and make your own mind. Reviewers I read say that dslr stuff was ok for it's price, but has some issues, but after getting into mirrorless they solved some things.
I didn't own samyang dslr lenses, but I own mirrorless ones and I can praise their high quality.
Similarly with lenses like 35 f1.2

Even though they are manual focus only, they have the sharpest macro lens, that goes to 2:1 maginfication.
Yes, they have dslr lens. However it is made for full frame, so it is 160mm equivalent. A bit more akward than classic 100mm and it is also their oldest lens.
And none of these lenses are particually expensive. Especially since they can be bought second hand.
