>>3171035 That pic was smashed against the lens as close as it could get. Compare its level of zoom with the last, right most pic in this series. This was the 18-55mm lens set to 18mm reversed + 68mm of extension tubes. This gave me a few inches of space between the lens and the pencil. Much easier to light.
I think I'll need a remote if I'm going to try to take photos like this with the tripod. Though, a ring light will help.
